Biorizon Biotech has been the company that has achieved the highest number of products with Official European Certification, with four products, demonstrating that it is at the forefront of regenerative agriculture and of the new batch of products that will transform agriculture in the coming years.

The Eurpean Union is leading the transformation of the fruit and vegetable sector towards a healthier, more sustainable agriculture without the use of chemical additives.

As part of its roadmap, the new EU regulation 2019/1009 allowed certification for products that exceeded the high standards set by the regulation.

This regulation makes it possible for the first time to classify products that pass the strict studies and field tests in the official category of biostimulants with different certification ranges depending on the crops.

Biorizon Biotech is one hundred percent focused on providing effective bio-based products where microalgae solutions are its hallmark.

These certifications have also reached the highest rank of crop certification, demonstrating through numerous studies their efficacy. The quality, guarantee and safety of the products is therefore certified by the European Union.

Algafert Eco, an integral biostimulant, capable of boosting the predominant phenological stage in the crop, especially related to productivity and with the capacity to regenerate tissues damaged by different stress situations. Biofat600 is specially designed to favour cell division, which means a better calibre and homogeneity of the production, together with an improvement in the efficiency of calcium absorption, which translates into a better firmness and post-harvest. Biopower Eco, which promotes root development, with more absorbent hairs, thus improving water and nutrient absorption. Photopower, which improves fertilisation by stimulating the efficiency of photosynthesis and thus the production of photoassimilates.

All of them represent a Poker of effective tools for the farmer to obtain higher yields from his crops and for the consumer to have access to healthier food by substituting traditional chemical components. Both objectives are at the heart of the European strategy “farm to fork” and the European Green Deal known as “Green Deal”.

This European Certification is also a great reinforcement to Biorizon Biotech’s internationalisation strategy, as its official status allows the direct commercialisation of these products in the 27 countries that make up the European Community and will soon be available in third countries where the EU is closing agreements for the validity of its certifications.

Achieving this milestone has taken the company a great effort in time and financial resources given the high demands to obtain the certification. Numerous field studies confirming the benefits of these products have been carried out by EU-approved external companies. In Spain CAAE is the designated certifier and responsible for reviewing and certifying the validity of the field studies carried out by the prestigious company Ideagro with accreditation to carry out tests officially recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food’.MAPAMA” and national reference laboratory of the FAO.

In order to obtain the official EU certifications, Biorizon Biotech has been advised by Sun Chemical Service, specialists in the certification of fertilisers, biostimulants and biopesticides at an international level.
